Centre For Rural Development (CRD)

CRD is a non- Profit, non-governmental and voluntry organization registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975 (Tamil Nadu Act 27 of 1975). It works for the welfare and upliftment of the downtrodden, deprived, marginalized and long neglected communities in Namakkal district. It renders its services without discrimination of caste, creed and religion.

The main focus of the organization is the empowerment and improvement in the quality of the poor and other vulnerable sections in society.

From its inception in 1996, the organization has been successfully carrying out various activities such as women Empowerment through the formation of Self Help Groups, Empowerment of children and Youth, Educational, support, A child Right Initiatives Health care programs, sanitation, Income Generation program, promotion of community structures, Environment programs, organicultivation etc.,

CRD spreads its activities in 15 Blocks of Namakkal district . 50,500 Families are directly linked with the organization through the network of community based organizations. The Organization aims to effect radical changes in the lives of the disadvantaged children, youth, women, Dhalits and Tribal Communities of Namakkal district.

Initially CRD was working with the prevailing concept of charity. Later with the conceptual changes in Social activities aiming at holistic development of the human society, CRD also introduced drastic changes in its policies and programs.

We work for the empowerment and welfare of women in all walks of life in order to empower the marginalized and vulnurable women in the society.

The youth men and women in the target villages are being encouraged to develop self esteem, Self confidence, leadership qualities to come up in thier life.

The Village Animators will contact the local panjayat leaders and village health workers to solve all the social problems and health issues immeadiatly.
